Hi everyone! I’m Joy Westercamp and I am extremely excited to continue serving as a co-chair of the Events Committee for the 2020-2021 academic year. I am a junior studying Biology in the College of Agriculture & Life sciences and I am originally from Farmington, Iowa. During my first year at Iowa State, I served on the Events and UHP Committees which was a phenomenal experience and gave me the opportunity to initially pursue this position. I can’t wait to continue planning events for students in the Honors Program to help enrich their college experience and build community between Honors students. Please reach out to me if you have questions about the Events Committee or the Honors Program as a whole and I wish you a wonderful school year!
Greetings! My name is Sophia Pike, and I am proud to say that I will be serving as one of the Event co-chairs! I am a sophomore Vocal Music Education major, from Bettendorf, Iowa in the Quad Cities area. I am very excited to help plan events I hope you all will enjoy this coming year, and am definitely open to feedback about activities you’d like to participate in! As my major suggests, I love singing, but I also play percussion, trombone, and violin. I listen to all kinds of music as well, but lately have really gotten into groovy tunes from the 60s and 70s, so if you have any suggestions of artists or albums I’d love to check it out! Quarantine has allowed me to develop several new hobbies including reading books I choose, and binge watching Downton Abbey while working on a quilt I’ve started, an odd combination I know, but it’s been a blast!
